If you haven’t heard of Saturated Colour yet, then where have you been? They’re a family run cosmetics business specialising in lip products that are cruelty free and a couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to be invited along to their head office to attend a blogger event #eSCexbbmeetup. I had had my eye on their lip products for a while so I was eager to pop along and find out more about the brand and their products.
I’ve tried to write this post several times over a period of several months. I’ve been absent from blogging for quite some time now, the urge to get back to blogging and writing is definitely back. But I feel like I owe you all an explanation as to my absence. I can’t really pin it down to one thing in particular, it’s more like a sequence of things. I’ve been through a lot recently and am still going through a lot that I’m trying to learn to deal with, but I’m not ready to share the details yet. I’m nowhere near emotionally strong enough for that! Who knows maybe one day I’ll feel ready to share my experiences in this corner of the internet. Needless to say I just felt like I needed a break to spend time to focus on myself and get back to being me.
My favourite delivery to receive each month has to be the little box full of delights, My Little Box. March’s box is just as fabulous as all the other boxes I’ve received, its honestly the only beauty box I have zero complaints about. This months theme is all about bubbles and embracing all things big, bubbly and bright. Encouraging you to get enthusiastic and embracing new things and life itself.
This month I thought I’d try a different type of subscription box. Being a beauty maven tends to go hand in hand with having a stationary fetish. So when I heard about a new UK-based monthly stationary subscription box called YooHoo Mail, of course I pounced on the opportunity of grabbing one before they ran out of stock.
I’m having a bit of a homeware moment of late. Whether it’s because I’m bored of the layout and items in our rented flat I don’t know but I feel like pretty much the whole flat could do with some serious reorganising and updating. There’s nothing better than whiling away your afternoon pinning interiors to your dream home board and wanting to buy all the lovely things so your house looks all pretty and like it came straight off the pages of World of Interiors magazine.
As you may know I’ve been receiving the My Little Boxes since they launched in September 2014, and they are by far my favourite monthly subscription box. For those of you that don’t know they don’t just cater for beauty but for all aspects of lifestyle too. Some months you get jewellery or homeware items, but the items are all based around a theme. The theme for the month of February was Home and it came in a beautiful minimalist, Scandi style box, so let’s take a peek at what was inside…
So I’ve had some issues lately with hosting which has resulted in a whole heap of delightful problems for me, one of which meaning my site was down for quite some time. You’ll be pleased to know (and hopefully see) all issues have been resolved *happy dance* and my hosting has been switched, so I’m back!!! Anyway… several weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited along to NEXT Bluewater for an intimate lingerie event (no pun intended) to showcase their new ranges as well as the bra fitting service they offer.
Real Talk is going to be a series on BLM where I’m going to get real with y’all. Seriously though, I’m going to be discussing some everyday issues and struggles that at some point in our lives, we’ll all deal with. What better place to kick things off, than discussing body issues? It’s a common discussion point purely because of the controversy surrounding it and I’m sure like me, you’ll have some body hang ups regardless of how many people tell you you need to love yourself.
I never really was one for lipsticks, until recently that is. I was more a pot of Vaseline kind of gal which then evolved into Nuxe’s Reve De Miel once I jumped on the bandwagon forking out a whopping £10 for a pot of lip balm. More recently I’ve discovered both the bold and nude lip and having been mixing up my shades and lip products.
I don’t think I’ll ever be as adventurous to discover matte lipsticks as I think these would be way too drying on my already dehydrated lips. But I’ve definitely been branching out, so I thought I’d share my current nude favourites. You’ll also be pleased to know that they’re not all from the drugstore yet they won’t break the bank.
