Can you believe we are in April? Where has this year gone, it literally feels like last week that it was Christmas, but somehow Easter is just around the corner! April is one of my favourite months. The clocks have gone forward so the evenings are getting lighter (hello evening strolls and beer gardens), the sun is making more of an appearance, there’s cute baby animals everywhere and mega bonus, there’s a crap tonne of chocolate! For me April feels like the turning point from Winter to Spring/ Summer and there is nothing I love more than summer.
Welcome to 2017 and welcome to January! We made it (high five)!
I hope you all had an amazing festive period and are full of good food, drink and merriness. I don’t know about you but I was well and truly done with 2016 and am so ready for 2017. So let’s make this the best year yet!
Can you believe it’s December! Where has this year gone? I feel like the older I get, the quicker the years go, please tell me I’m not the only one who feels like that. It really feels like winter and Christmas here in the UK now that the weather has turned rather chilly and my first bout of illness sinks in. What’s winter without a good old cold and sore throat to match!
I’ve been toying with writing this post for a while now, my only issue is trying to get all the jumbled thoughts out of my head and into some sort of organised and understandable writing. Apologies if at times it seems confusing but hopefully you’ll stick with me, it comes from the heart and hopefully it may resonate with some of you.
Life has been a bit mental for me recently and I’ve let a fair few aspects of my life slide, this blog being one of them. I’m feeling more focused at the moment and somewhat more organised so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get more shizz done and feel slightly more sane and human like. I thought I’d hit you today with a little bit of an update to let you know whats been happening recently and some plans I have over the next month or so.
If you haven’t heard of Saturated Colour yet, then where have you been? They’re a family run cosmetics business specialising in lip products that are cruelty free and a couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to be invited along to their head office to attend a blogger event #eSCexbbmeetup. I had had my eye on their lip products for a while so I was eager to pop along and find out more about the brand and their products.
I’ve tried to write this post several times over a period of several months. I’ve been absent from blogging for quite some time now, the urge to get back to blogging and writing is definitely back. But I feel like I owe you all an explanation as to my absence. I can’t really pin it down to one thing in particular, it’s more like a sequence of things. I’ve been through a lot recently and am still going through a lot that I’m trying to learn to deal with, but I’m not ready to share the details yet. I’m nowhere near emotionally strong enough for that! Who knows maybe one day I’ll feel ready to share my experiences in this corner of the internet. Needless to say I just felt like I needed a break to spend time to focus on myself and get back to being me.
Real Talk is going to be a series on BLM where I’m going to get real with y’all. Seriously though, I’m going to be discussing some everyday issues and struggles that at some point in our lives, we’ll all deal with. What better place to kick things off, than discussing body issues? It’s a common discussion point purely because of the controversy surrounding it and I’m sure like me, you’ll have some body hang ups regardless of how many people tell you you need to love yourself.
This post is going to be quite a frank, honest post on my thoughts on what blogging has become and where I see it heading in 2016. Blogging initially came about because people preferred the honesty and rawness that came with blogging to the glossy, highly edited features we were seeing everyday in magazines.
This whole thought process around the blogging world was sparked last Sunday when I was doing my usual routine of sitting in bed, waiting for the other half to wake up watching YouTube videos. Two particularly struck a chord with me. I won’t name them but they are bloggers that I can honestly say were the ones that got me into blogging and I’ve always loved their content, until recently.
The saying a Sunday well spent brings a week of content rings true. I always feel that if I’ve spent my Sundays wisely, relaxing and preparing for the week, I transition into Monday much smoother. Sometimes I also think it’s nice to just have a chilled out, relaxed day where you take things at your own pace and have a bit of a pamper sesh, huh who needs fancy spas with fancy price tags!
