We all know how hard it can be to get back on track after over indulging during the festive period. January can seem like such a slog with everyone taking a massive shift to focus on their health as the new year rolls in. With that in mind I thought I’d share my top tips on how to get back on track and smash your health goals this year.
I’m sure we have all, at one stage in our lives, experienced a lack of motivation when it comes to both exercise and healthy eating (avoidance of the ‘d’ word there). Sometimes that goal you’ve set yourself seems so far off in the distance, you feel you have little or no hope of realistically achieving it. Welcome to our dear old friend de-motivation, that’s the thing that encourages you to scoff that cinnamon whirl or not bother getting out of bed to do your morning workout (neither has any relevance to my life, I swear). Here are some of my tips I’m trying to stick to to help keep me motivated, face those demons and achieve my goal!
As with every year New Year, I always pledge to lose weight. This year I’ve made a particular effort by starting my new diet and exercise routine before the New Year had even began. To help on my healthy lifestyle journey, I’ve really been getting into YouTube workouts. Routines and classes you can do in the comfort of your own living room without stepping a foot outside are ideal for those who fear the freezing temperatures outside or who generally have a busy schedule. Here are my top 5 YouTube workouts…
Many of us always resolve to try and eat healthier, exercise more and diet. However more often than not we all start off with the best intentions but nothing actually becomes of it, at least not the healthier version of ourselves we’d hoped to achieve. I thought I’d share with you 10 simple steps that I’ve found to help make the difference for me when wanting to kickstart my healthy phase.
I have recently got back into running again now that the mornings and evenings are getting longer. I love being able to use my run as a way to de-stress after a days work (yes I used running and love in the same sentence, my younger cross-country hating self would not be pleased right now). It’s a great way to boost your fitness but also wind down and relax as your mind purely focuses on your breathing and your feet hitting the pavement. So where do you start if you’re a complete novice?
I’m sure many of you are like me in that one of your new years resolutions was wither to get fit or loose weight. So as a little encouragement I thought I’d share with you my favorite pieces of sports clothing around at the moment. Granted the clothing you wear makes no difference to your fitness or weight loss but looking good and having new clothing automatically makes you feel good. Plus if you have new sports clothing you’ll be dying to try it on and wear it so it’ll hopefully make you more likely to work out (fingers crossed it will anyway).
You can pick up a variety of sports clothing nowadays for various different exercise activities from running to dance. They also have a wide range of colours, sizes and of course price ranges so I’ve tried to pick a wide variety so there should hopefully be something for everyone! (from left to right)
