What is Christmas without a Christmas themed beauty box? One that’s really hit the spot for me is the December My Little Box. Themed this month after the festive season itself, it’s certain not to disappoint. You all know by now that I am a huge fan of the subscription service for the lifestyle box by My Little Box. I don’t think any other box nails it month in month out like MLB… so here’s the low down on the goodies in this month’s box.
I thought that whilst I’m currently sat sunning myself in Spain, it might be useful to share my tips on pre-holiday beauty prep. I’ve only just started to feel human again as for the majority of the holiday in typical me style, I got sick and felt awful *insert poop emoji*.
If you’re anything like me, the lead up to a holiday can be described in simple terms as a whirlwind. Where the day before you go away you’re stood in the middle of your room, a half empty suitcase, an explosion having occurred in your wardrobe and you in the midst of it all having a meltdown because, need to shave legs, paint nails, exfoliate and the mental list goes on. So for anyone planning a vacay this beauty go to list might just help reduce that meltdown…
If you haven’t heard of Saturated Colour yet, then where have you been? They’re a family run cosmetics business specialising in lip products that are cruelty free and a couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to be invited along to their head office to attend a blogger event #eSCexbbmeetup. I had had my eye on their lip products for a while so I was eager to pop along and find out more about the brand and their products.
My favourite delivery to receive each month has to be the little box full of delights, My Little Box. March’s box is just as fabulous as all the other boxes I’ve received, its honestly the only beauty box I have zero complaints about. This months theme is all about bubbles and embracing all things big, bubbly and bright. Encouraging you to get enthusiastic and embracing new things and life itself.
As you may know I’ve been receiving the My Little Boxes since they launched in September 2014, and they are by far my favourite monthly subscription box. For those of you that don’t know they don’t just cater for beauty but for all aspects of lifestyle too. Some months you get jewellery or homeware items, but the items are all based around a theme. The theme for the month of February was Home and it came in a beautiful minimalist, Scandi style box, so let’s take a peek at what was inside…
I never really was one for lipsticks, until recently that is. I was more a pot of Vaseline kind of gal which then evolved into Nuxe’s Reve De Miel once I jumped on the bandwagon forking out a whopping £10 for a pot of lip balm. More recently I’ve discovered both the bold and nude lip and having been mixing up my shades and lip products.
I don’t think I’ll ever be as adventurous to discover matte lipsticks as I think these would be way too drying on my already dehydrated lips. But I’ve definitely been branching out, so I thought I’d share my current nude favourites. You’ll also be pleased to know that they’re not all from the drugstore yet they won’t break the bank.
The June Birchbox has landed and a word of warning that I’m a bit of a Debby Downer in this video as I wasn’t a huge fan of this month’s box. Birchbox just doesn’t seem to be bringing it recently with the variety of products, particularly as each box for the last couple of months have contained something I’ve already received. Subscribers were able to choose the theme of their box and inside was a matching shoe bag, so onto the products…
Things have been a tad quiet round here lately, but I’ve still managed to sort out posting a video for you all. As I mentioned in last weeks May Favourites this week is an empties video. It’s quite a chatty one where I’m sharing my thoughts on all the empty products I’ve hoarded over the past couple of months.
It’s that time of month again where I bundle together the best of the bunch of products I’ve been loving throughout the month of May. There’s a mixture of products again for you, some coming from unexpected places, well at least for me anyway. This month I discovered a new brush cleaner, hair product and even some totally affordable brushes that don’t break the bank or, more importantly, fall apart.
