I’ve been toying with writing this post for a while now, my only issue is trying to get all the jumbled thoughts out of my head and into some sort of organised and understandable writing. Apologies if at times it seems confusing but hopefully you’ll stick with me, it comes from the heart and hopefully it may resonate with some of you.
I know, I know it may seem a tad early to be talking about Christmas, but the weather has taken more of an Autumnal turn this week. Plus the shops are slowly starting to get the Christmas gift sets in, so I feel it’s kind of acceptable to start talking about Christmas. If you’re a fellow blogger then read on to find out how you can get involved in a Christmas gift swap!
Life has been a bit mental for me recently and I’ve let a fair few aspects of my life slide, this blog being one of them. I’m feeling more focused at the moment and somewhat more organised so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get more shizz done and feel slightly more sane and human like. I thought I’d hit you today with a little bit of an update to let you know whats been happening recently and some plans I have over the next month or so.
I thought that whilst I’m currently sat sunning myself in Spain, it might be useful to share my tips on pre-holiday beauty prep. I’ve only just started to feel human again as for the majority of the holiday in typical me style, I got sick and felt awful *insert poop emoji*.
If you’re anything like me, the lead up to a holiday can be described in simple terms as a whirlwind. Where the day before you go away you’re stood in the middle of your room, a half empty suitcase, an explosion having occurred in your wardrobe and you in the midst of it all having a meltdown because, need to shave legs, paint nails, exfoliate and the mental list goes on. So for anyone planning a vacay this beauty go to list might just help reduce that meltdown…
If you haven’t heard of Saturated Colour yet, then where have you been? They’re a family run cosmetics business specialising in lip products that are cruelty free and a couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to be invited along to their head office to attend a blogger event #eSCexbbmeetup. I had had my eye on their lip products for a while so I was eager to pop along and find out more about the brand and their products.
I’ve tried to write this post several times over a period of several months. I’ve been absent from blogging for quite some time now, the urge to get back to blogging and writing is definitely back. But I feel like I owe you all an explanation as to my absence. I can’t really pin it down to one thing in particular, it’s more like a sequence of things. I’ve been through a lot recently and am still going through a lot that I’m trying to learn to deal with, but I’m not ready to share the details yet. I’m nowhere near emotionally strong enough for that! Who knows maybe one day I’ll feel ready to share my experiences in this corner of the internet. Needless to say I just felt like I needed a break to spend time to focus on myself and get back to being me.
My favourite delivery to receive each month has to be the little box full of delights, My Little Box. March’s box is just as fabulous as all the other boxes I’ve received, its honestly the only beauty box I have zero complaints about. This months theme is all about bubbles and embracing all things big, bubbly and bright. Encouraging you to get enthusiastic and embracing new things and life itself.
This month I thought I’d try a different type of subscription box. Being a beauty maven tends to go hand in hand with having a stationary fetish. So when I heard about a new UK-based monthly stationary subscription box called YooHoo Mail, of course I pounced on the opportunity of grabbing one before they ran out of stock.
I’m having a bit of a homeware moment of late. Whether it’s because I’m bored of the layout and items in our rented flat I don’t know but I feel like pretty much the whole flat could do with some serious reorganising and updating. There’s nothing better than whiling away your afternoon pinning interiors to your dream home board and wanting to buy all the lovely things so your house looks all pretty and like it came straight off the pages of World of Interiors magazine.
As you may know I’ve been receiving the My Little Boxes since they launched in September 2014, and they are by far my favourite monthly subscription box. For those of you that don’t know they don’t just cater for beauty but for all aspects of lifestyle too. Some months you get jewellery or homeware items, but the items are all based around a theme. The theme for the month of February was Home and it came in a beautiful minimalist, Scandi style box, so let’s take a peek at what was inside…
